Novitec Rosso Ferrari F430 ‘Tu Nero’ (Darth Vader’s Ride)

The Ferrari F430 ‘Tu Nero’ is the latest bastard child of the well-known Ferrari Tuner Novitec.

This car was recently presented at the IAA

Most stunning on this car is the color, called plain black (really?) as well as the fact that the car is based on the brand new F430 Scuderia. Darth Vader’s new dark side Ferrari produces 707 bhp at 8350 rpm combined with 712 Nm of Torque. All this power makes it possible to do the 62 mph (100 kmh) sprint in 3.5 seconds. Yes completely rediculous, who wouldn’t want one?

My friend who won the security contract on Darth Vader’s crib (seems that everyone is outsourcing these days) tipped me off that Vader was out at his newly launched Death Star Strip Club last week, so I did what any ethical photographer would have done given this opportunity, snapped off as many photos of Vader’s new ride. Enjoy.

Conflicting Data From 2 Sources

MotorAuthority.com reports:
“The car sports a pair of race-grade superchargers with modified turbine blades and individual oil coolers, an enlarged induction tract with heat insulation as well as new water-cooled intercoolers that are twice the size of the units in the previous SuperSport F430.”

GTSpirit.com reports:
“To make all this possible, Novitec had to add two turbo’s to the original F430 engine, and this was necessary to create the extra 217 bhp.”

Conclusion
Thanks to the tie breaker article over at AutoBlog.com which confirms my memory of past Novitec Ferrari iterations (NOVITEC Bi-Compressor Kit, the centerpiece of the Rosso F360, via twin Rotrex superchargers) we can all rest assured that MOST LIKELY the ‘Tu Nero’ gets its balls from a pair of superchargers and not turbos.

Thanks to the official Novitec Rosso website’s lack of information, I cannot confirm my conclusion, but at least I am man enough to admit it. Cheers!
