With every auto enthousiast on the planet still awestruck by Nissan’s new GT-R supercar, news that top Japanese tuning firms are already offering upgrades may be enough to send them over the edge. Here are the highlights of the upcoming raft of after market bolt-ons for Nissan’s new supercar showcased by Mine’s Motor Sports at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2008.

Mines have developed adjustable coil over suspension, a 400mm brake kit, high-flow catalysts and a more freer-flowing titanium exhaust system. This has already seen a 20bhp hike in dyno tests and the firm is busying itself working on the ECU to allow the car to run higher boost levels.

VX-ROM ENGINE CONTROL UNIT (126,000 yen)

Mine’s has a world wide reputation for quality and excellence in the field of engine management. The VX-ROM will release the true potential of the GT-R’s performance, whilst still maintaining the drivability and reliability offered by the factory ECU.
If required, the original immobiliser function can be retained.
SILENCE-VX PRO TITAN II (428,000 yen)

The Silence VX-Pro Titan II is an ultra lightweight, all titanium system designed to increase performance and response throughout the rev range. The system meets the stringent JASMA regulations, and offers uncompromised quality and durability.
BREMBO BIG BRAKE ROTOR KIT (Front 230,000 yen, Rear 245,000 yen)

Mine’s have developed the Big Brake Rotor Kit for use with the factory caliper. Included in the kit are 24 slot front discs, 16 slot rear discs and replacement brackets.
The kit has been developed to improve drivability and braking performance.
SUPER CATALYZER II (218,000 yen)

Current legislation requires that all vehicles are fitted with a catalyzer to reduce emissions and protect the environment.
The Super Catalyzer II is a highly efficient catalyst that increases the response and power of the engine, as well as meeting the current regulations.
ESTA FULL SPEC SUSPENSION II (952,000 yen)

The Full Spec II is designed for drivers that want a precision suspension setup for both street and circuit use.
Based on SACHS shocks and utilising Eibach springs, they are fully height adjustable with independent bump/rebound adjustment. The aluminum construction ensures they are ultra light weight.
Mine’s EIBACH SPRING KIT (60,000yen)

The Mine’s Eibach Spring Kit provides a stable and yet comfortable ride. In addition, by using a tube isolator the unpleasant spring sound of the standard suspension is greatly reduced.
VX-AIR FILTER (26,800 yen)

The Mine’s VX Air-Filter consists of a three layer cotton and aluminum mesh construction, treated with a special oil to aid filtering and reduce intake turbulence. The intake resistance is significantly reduced, providing the necessary airflow required by the VX-ROM. The filter can be reuse when washed. The percentage of the amount of intake air lost after 35 washes is only 3%.
It has proved that it is well within the limits for practical use.
ROOF ANTENNA (40,000 yen)

CARBON FRONT SPOILER – UNDER DEVELOPMENT

The carbon front spoiler is fabricated from high quality dry carbon with extremely lightweight, and designed to give a subtle look as well as excellent performance at mid to high speed.
RADIATOR SHROUD – UNDER DEVELOPMENT
When engine tuning is advanced, the calorific power can never be suppressed but it will have the tendency to overheat. The Radiator Shroud was the considered method to solve this problem. It works to apply intake air directly to the radiator by installing it between the front grille and the radiator upper core support.
CARBON AERO MIRROR TYPE II – UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Mine’s carbon mirrors are made from high quality carbon fiber with a clear coat finish, and use high quality R680 glass for enhanced visibility. Installation is simple, and the existing electric system is utilized
REAR WING, REAR GURNEY – UNDER DEVELOPMENT

STABILIZER – UNDER DEVELOPMENT
The Mine’s stabilisers are of lightweight, hollow construction and improve the linear steering feel as well as reducing body roll during cornering. The stabiliser bars are direct bolt-on replacements for the factory items.
PAGID BRAKE PAD – UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Mine’s brake pads use a ceramic, asbestos free compound and improve braking feel and performance. Manufactured by Pagid, a world renown company for their experience and quality, several different compounds are available for different applications including street and track. For optimum performance it is recommended to use these pads with the Big Brake Rotor Kit.
