Gordon Murray Sketches His New T25 City Car

Gordon Murray is a renowned designer of Formula One race cars and the famous and ultra wicked awesome McLaren F1 supercar. Today he unveiled some sketches of his “City Car” named the T25 (Type 25 - His 25th Designed Car!) which will be an ultra lightweight eco-friendly car aimed at the masses in the UK.

The Smart ForTwo has as many parts as a conventional small car, while Murray’s new T25 will use far fewer parts to speed assembly and reduce the labor and energy input at the plant. The component parts of the model will be minimised and the T25 chassis will be able to be packed, this means there will be more cars shipped per container and this will cut costs.

The T25 city car has been on Gordon Murray’s mind for over a decade and it became a reality when he setup Gordon Murray Design Ltd a year ago. The company already has 29 staff members and it is affiliated with Caparo, which is the make of the track-bred Caparo T1 Supercar.
The T25 will be a cheap innovative model that is aimed at the British public.
