Sideswipe Autobot – Corvette Stingray Pictures
Posted by Anthony CarboneFebruary 12, 2009 at 9:10 pm

The mystery of the Transformers 2 Corvette spied on set was finally revealed at the Chicago Auto Show this week. This Corvette Sting Ray Concept plays homage to the classic split window 1963 Corvette Sting Ray. It will be used in the upcoming Transformers 2 movie as the Autobot Sideswipe.

There are 100% NO plans for this cars production (wink wink). Transformers director Michael Bay apparently toured GM styling studios looking for new characters for the movie and was so impressed by the Sting Ray Concept he had to create the character Sideswipe so that he could incorporate it into the movie!

Hi, I'm
HOT SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great looking car always been chevy fan. Own a 3rd gen camaro one of ten. Nice to see a corvette with a styled additude. Mean look and split window whats not to like. Looking forward to see if it goes in to production. I think it’s already a winner.thanks Steve B
I HOP THEY MAKE ONE OF THESE CARS MODELS IN THE FUTURE…
…UNDER THE NAME OF CORVETTE ..
If this is what GM wants to do with the corvette, they deserve bankruptcy. That is awful.
this car is sick!!! if it goes into production u can bet im going to buy one.
Bite your tongue, John! (Or your typing fingers). This design is precisely the direction the Chevy needs to move in with the Corvette. They’ve taken features from all the greatest Corvette models and modernized them into one amazing-looking vehicle! The pointed nose with the front grill is genius, and the strong rounded fenders are what Corvettes are all about! Plus, they’ve managed to integrate some built-in headlights that don’t look like garbage (the headlights on the current model in production are terrible)! This car is phenomenal, and if I could afford it, I’d buy one in every color.
What do you want the Corvette to look like, John? Some flimsy little European dart? Go buy a Fiero and leave us the hell alone!
oh jon got told! i love this car and hope it goes in production… was never a fan of the look of corvette’s till now!
