Maserati recently revealed it’s sexy new GranTurismo MC which is a European GT4 Cup race car mildly based on the Maserati GranTurismo S production car.
The car will be sold directly from Maserati Corse at a cost of $180,000 USD.
The Maserati GranTurismo MC sports a 4.7L V8 which delivers 450 hp and a electro-actuated transmission linked to the Maserati Corse (MC) shift system, further reducing shift times by 40 milliseconds! Don’t expect to see any of these at a McDonald’s near you as the GranTurismo MC will only be made available for teams entering into the European GT4 Cup in 2010.

It will be interesting to see what happens with these when Maserati launches their single make series in 2010. They will have to differentiate from GT4 spec and may have to do something novel or radical to keep it interesting since everybody and their mother is hoping into these “gentleman racing” circuits… Nevertheless a sick ride!
