The Hennessey team gives a boost to the 2015 Ford Mustang from a very good car to a supercar. After hitting over 195 miles per hour a few months ago, John Hennessey was barely out of his personal HPE700 Mustang before he said that 200 mph was achievable. Don’t doubt a man who knows a ton about taking cars to insane speeds. With the new HPE750 Mustang, he and his customers can finally surpass the 200-mph mark in their cars. Accompanying its massive top speed is the company’s claims that in 3.4 seconds, the coupe can hit 60 mph and in 10.9 seconds, can trek a quarter mile.

Hennessey’s motto for making this a reality is: “If at first you don’t succeed, just add more horsepower and rpm and try again.” From a very good car with 717 horsepower and 632 pound-feet of torque, and its 5.0-liter V8 in the HPE700, the HPE750 brings it to supercar status, with a treacherous 774 hp and 648 lb-ft. Now, he and his clients can finally push the speedometer over 200-mph.

With true assurance in its upgrade, Jay Leno was invited to accompany the Hennessey Team when it made a reappearance to the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, TX to break the old top speed. The upgrades proved their worth and backed their claims as the pony ran down the straight with a GPS-verified 207.9 miles per hour. The event will be shown off on a segment of the upcoming Jay Leno’s Garage TV show on CNBC.

Just 500 units of the HPE750 will be produced for the 2015 Mustang model year and over 50 orders have already been confirmed. Pricing starts at $59,500 USD including the base 2015 5.0L Mustang GT. New 2015 Hennessey Mustangs can be ordered through local Ford dealers.
