Amazon Pays $250M for Top Gear Cast

There are huge pay days, and then there’s Floyd Mayweather payday’s similar to what Amazon is professedly paying Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, and Andy Wilman to assemble another motoring show in lieu of Top Gear. A report from The Daily Mirror shows the delivery monster and thriving supporter will pay the quartet $250 million to create three, 12-scene seasons.

That arrangement emphatically predominates the $100 million Netflix paid for two, 13-scene seasons of its political hit, House of Cards, and demonstrates that Amazon is savage genuine about building up an effective opponent to the new, Chris Evans-drove Top Gear.

Ferrari 488 Spider Pictures

The most powerful V8 Ferrari with a retractable hard-top is here, the new Ferrari 488 Spider. Using the twin-turbo 660hp 3.9-Litre seen in the 488 GTB, the Spider accelerates zero to 100km/hr in a mere 3.0 seconds, and zero to 200km/hr in 8.7 seconds not letting up steam until 203 mph.

The folding hard-top is 25kg lighter than a fabric roof and it takes 14 seconds for the top to open and close both ways. The weight infraction due to the hard-top is minimal, weighing 1420kg- just 50kg more than the coupe and 10kg less than the 458 Spider. The new 488 Spider is also the most aerodynamically efficient topless Ferrari ever made; a pair of flying buttresses behind the cabin sends the airflow towards the engine while the rear spoiler is transferred from the GTB.

Ferrari’s number crunching declares a 12% faster acceleration out of corners, as well as a 23% increase in torsional rigidity in the frame; impressive upgrades from the 458 Spider. Ferrari will be officially unveiling the 488 Spider to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in this coming September, and track times will hopefully follow shortly after.

Lamborghini Concept S Up For Auction

The Lamborghini Concept S, after being first debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005 is being auctioned off in New York this November. This one of a kind, fully functioning concept car is expected to fetch bids between $2-$4 million, sources say.

The Gallardo is the best-selling Lamborghini in history. Over 14,000 were built and sold over its 10-year lifespan. Yet, when it first launched in 2003, dedicated Lamborghini clients felt that it was too ‘German’ and therefore lacking in Lamborghini’s Italian flair. The Concept S was Lamborghini’s way of responding to these criticisms.
