Lamborghini Concept S Up For Auction

The Lamborghini Concept S, after being first debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005 is being auctioned off in New York this November. This one of a kind, fully functioning concept car is expected to fetch bids between $2-$4 million, sources say.

The Gallardo is the best-selling Lamborghini in history. Over 14,000 were built and sold over its 10-year lifespan. Yet, when it first launched in 2003, dedicated Lamborghini clients felt that it was too ‘German’ and therefore lacking in Lamborghini’s Italian flair. The Concept S was Lamborghini’s way of responding to these criticisms.

The Concept S received glorifying reactions from all, so much so that Lamborghini actually attempted to put the dream car into production. The Italian automaker managed only to build one working, road-legal model before the program was cancelled due to the extreme expenses involved. It is this model, ‘Chassis #001’, that will be heading to auction at the RM Sotheby’s Art Automobiles sale this coming November.
This Concept S only has 180km on it’s Odometer many of which a result of testing, and has been with the same owner since new. It has an initial estimate of $3 million but expect the price on the day to go much higher.
