There are few brands that can evoke as much emotion from its customers than the Prancing Horse of Ferrari. As such, when they release a limited edition car, people scramble to be first in line without even an iota of consideration of the cost. With only 10 exquisitely made examples available, the Ferrari F60 America is one of the rarest Ferraris ever made. The first delivery recently took place in the namesake’s own country and as you would expect, the price of entry was definitely not cheap.

The Ferrari F60 America was commissioned to commemorate Ferrari’s 60th anniversary in the United States’ market. Finished in a gorgeous Blu Nart Livery, this particular F60 America was taken delivery by a very excited man at the 25th Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. Each of the 10 examples will reach US shores. The F60 America is based on an F12, however it is thoroughly redesigned. There is an open top and a restyled front fascia. The F60 keeps the F12’s front mounted 6.3 L V12 and it’s monstrous 730 hp and 509 lb-ft of torque.

Ferrari thought this this was enough to charge an astonishing $2.5 million USD. Considering that the company’s flagship LaFerrari is faster and in my humble opinion, looks way more badass for about half the price, this F60 America seems to be a smart idea for a great big ol’ cash injection of $25 million USD into the company’s pockets as early stockholders want to see their investment worthwhile. On the flipside, the customers will reap the benefits as well. This might be the last naturally aspirated V12 Ferrari will ever make. Turbos and electric are taking over as alternate power routes, and therefore this 1 of 10 naturally-aspirated V12 RWD Ferrari probably won’t be hurt by the depreciation curve. Nevertheless, hand me the keys any day to a V12 Ferrari and I would be happy to rip up a backroad or two.
