LaFerrari Spider

Ferrari has been teasing us for some time now, but it has been officially confirmed by Sergio Marchionme that the LaFerrari Spider is real. There have been rumors swirling around that Gordon Ramsay is already a proud owner of one these rare beasts. The LaFerrari Spider has been officially announced by Ferrari and well it lives up to the hype if you want to say.

Unlike many other models that Ferrari has to offer, many interested customers were approached about the LaFerrari Spider long before the news of it becoming official was made public. Similar to the hardtop LaFerrari, these customers were not able to just purchase the spider but rather had to obtain an invitation from Ferrari for the chance to purchase one of these exquisite cars.

Although Ferrari officially announced the releasing of their new model, there is almost no information on the vehicle. However, it’s safe to assume that the spider will possess the same 949 horsepower hybrid drivetrain, composed of a 788-HP, 6.3 liter naturally aspirated V12 and lastly a 161 horse electric motor inside the seven speed dual clutch transmission. Furthermore in other testing, it showed that the car was capable of going from 0-60 in just 2.4 seconds, which was the fastest that any car has been tested before at Road&Track.

In addition, Ferrari has not released any details of how many Spiders will be built or how much it will cost to purchase one of them. However, recognizing that Ferrari only built around 499 examples of the coupe it is safe to say that this car will be very limited.

Lastly, the actual name of this beast will not be known until the Paris auto show. But until then we will just keep calling it the “LaFerrari Spider” and cherish that this creation has went from being a rumors and a fantasy to a reality.
