Limited to 25 iterations the ABT R8 GTR has 620bhp which delivers a 0-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds! and a 200km/h time of 9.9 seconds. Top speed is 325km/h (202mph). Audi unveiled their new R8 V10 Convertible (aka Spyder) at the 2009 Frankfurt International Motor Show in September. It sports the 5.2L V10 engine found in the coupe which delivers 518hp and 391ft-lbs of torque. Crank the volume and enjoy the video!

Former UFC Champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson was recently rear ended by a women while driving home from California’s Orange County Audi dealership in a brand new V10 Audi R8. Looks like his new V10 is sporting the same wheels (but with a black lip) that his last black R8 had when it was at HIN LA in 2008 – Rampage R8.

Rampage said, “I am fine, the little old lady is fine, but my car got hurt, and for that I’m sad.”

This is the first time in a couple years that Rampage has been in a vehicular incident where he wasn’t being chased by cops or in a wham bam freeway slam fest in his monster truck!

His new V10 powered Audi R8 shares the same 5.2L engine as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 but has been de-tuned to deliver 518hp and 391ft-lbs of torque. (vs the LP560-4 which produces 552hp and 398ft-lbs of torque).

Not only does John Mayer have an appetite for hot Hollywood celebs (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Minka Kelly, Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry to name a few), but he also has an appetite for luxurious exotic super cars!

Back in June 2009 John was originally spotted putting some high grade octane in his black Ferrari 599 GTB at a gas station in Calabasas, then just a couple weeks ago he was spotted getting out of a white Audi R8, and just recently again at a gas station with his Ferrari 599. In 2008 John Mayer was also spotted at a gas station with his Gulf Blue and Orange Ford GT and also with a Land Rover Defender!

He admitted that a Verde Ithaca Gallardo Spyder was a near buy a while back, but instead opted to go for a white one. I can only assume the ALLURE of the GREEN ENVY was too much to handle and when he saw this one off JAVA GREEN AUDI R8 the temptation was just too strong to deny!!!

Stumbling upon the sights of this car has got to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen this year so far. I am an EXTREME supporter of people and there love for GREEN exotics, my favorite being Verde Ihaca on the LP640.

Seeing that it’s midweek, I was in need of something exciting to watch to get my morning going. After a few minutes of surfing some of my favorite automotive blogs, I fell upon these incredible video test drives over at our friends GTSpirit.com.

Those lucky boys shared their test drive experiences about two wonderful cars, the MTM Audi R8 R and the MTM Audi RS6 both tuned by the wicked MTM (Motoren Technik Mayer). Don’t forget to checkout the MTM Scirocco R which Anthony saw at the 2008 Essen Motorshow!

These two cars before any modifications are already ridiculously superb! The AUDI RS6 AVANT and the AUDI R8 are beasts all by themselves without any aftermarket tuning. MTM has re-badged them as the Audi R8 R and Audi RS6 R, simple yet effective IMHO. Now about the VIDEOS!!! Not only does Audi now have the Audi R8 LMS GT3 which stunned us all debuting at the 2008 Essen Motor Show, next month’s Detroit Motor Show Audi will introduce their new Audi R8 V10, their fastest production R8 yet.

The new Audi R8 V10 will come have the Lamborghini Gallardo LP650-4’s 5.2 liter V10 engine producing 528 hp, which is the same engine in the Audi R8 LMS GT3.

The Audi R8 V10 features magnetic ride dampers, a new rear diffuser, twin oval tailpipes and a choice of a six-speed manual or an R tronic semi-automatic gearbox (for your wife). Bang and Olufsen sound system in the inside and a Nappa leather finish as well to remind you how well engineered money smells.

The Audi R8 V10 should do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and have a top velocity of 196 mph or 315 km/h.

The Audi R8 V10 should cost around $180,000 USD.

On the 1st Day of Christmas 2008 CarZi launched it’s new site upon return from the 2008 Essen Motor Show Pictures in Germany! Over the next couple weeks I will upload the 4000+ photos I took at the event.

There were tonnes of sick cars such as the 1st unveiling of the Audi R8 GT3 LMS, PPI RAZOR GTR and Brabus Tesla Roadster! The show was awesome, those German’s definitely love their European bred sports cars! I found it interesting but not surprising to have only seen 3 Nissan GT-R’s at the show unlike the 15+ some hardcore Modified SEMA Nissan GT-R’s!

The Audi R8, fresh off its Le Mans 24 hour safety car debut, will now take on the same role in the DTM Race Series (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) and the slick R8 will make a second debut serving as a racing taxi as well.

As you would expect from the rediculously slick engineered mid-engined sportscar, the required modifications were minimal. “There were not many modifications required, though, because the R8 possesses the genes of a perfect sports car,” says Werner Frowein, managing director of quattro GmbH.

A special version of the CLK is the CLK DTM AMG sports car, which looks similar to the full race car (shown below) for the German Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Racing Series which has to use a normally aspirated 4.0 L V8, limited to less than 500 hp.

However 100 Coupés and 80 Convertibles were released for sale in Europe, using AMG’s supercharged 5.4 L V8, now producing 428 kW (582 PS) and 800 N·m (590 ft·lbf). The front and rear track are widened by 2.9 and 4.2 inches (74 and 110 mm) respectively, and special tires and suspension modifications allow the car to pull 1.35 g (13 m/s²) of lateral acceleration!!!

0-100 km/h acceleration is just 3.9 seconds, and top speed is 320 km/h (199 mph). In Germany, the car cost 236,060 euro after taxes.

I saw my very first Mercedes Benz CLK DTM Coupe while at the starting line of the 2007 Bullrun in Montreal, QC.
