Check out the leaked Lexus LFA production and press release pictures and specs leaked ahead of its Tokyo Motor Show debut which hits the land of the rising sun in less than a couple hours!

This monster has a 4.8-liter 72-degree V10 delivering 560 hp at 8,700 RPM with 354 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 RPM. It redlines at an appropriate 9,000 RPM has titanium valves, connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, dry sump lubrication and a titanium exhaust manifold. It is controlled by a 6 speed sequential gearbox fitted to a Torsen limited slip differential.

It weighs 3,263 pounds with a 48/52 front-to-rear weight distribution, has a power-to-weight ratio of 5.8 pounds/hp and it’s body is 65 percent carbon fiber!! It comes with 20-inch BBS wheels wrapped in 265/35 ZR20 Bridgestone tires in front and 305/30 ZR20 in the rear.

Although there still remains one last race on the 2009 Formula 1 Schedule the Constructors Championship and most importantly the DRIVER champion have already been crowned. Jenson Button and his team Brawn GP are the ultimate winners this year. It was quite an interesting year which saw Button win the first 6 of 7 races to only fizzle out for the remaining several races and barely hold on to his title.

Yet with the last two races in which Jenson truly had to prove himself he did just so with the Brazilian GP Sunday afternoon (October 18th) rising from the 14th pole position and finishing 5th to ensure him his first ever GRAND PRIX DRIVERS TITLE at the young age of 29. This also mark only the second time in nearly 50 years that 2 British drivers (Lewis Hamilton 2008, Jenson Button 2009) win back to back World titles. The last time it happened was in 1968 when Graham Hill won and in 1969 Jackie Stewart taking it.

It is currently 6:16am here in beautiful Monterey California and I have been awake for the last hour resizing and uploading some of my 2009 Monterey Car Show Pictures for your enjoyment. Yesterday we saw a total of 5 red Enzo Ferrari’s, a rare White Porsche Carrera GT, a Ferrari F50 F40 and Enzo all driving together, a Porsche 959, 3 Bugatti Veyron’s, a Saleen S7 Competition and race car were both at my hotel and so much more I think I blew a couple fuses. What an amazing day we had running from hot location to location, today will start in about an hour! STAY TUNED

Jason Thorgalsen and Stephan Bauer are still sleeping as they got in super late from the party at the Monterey Jet Center (pics coming don’t worry).

Visitors will enjoy live music sponsored by Blue Fin on Cannery Row, a wine pavilion, great food, beautiful cars and wonderful people in the region Steinbeck spoke of in his novels for years. La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse will deliver a special treat first thing in the morning, as the Grapes of Wrath vehicle made famous in the movie The Grapes of Wrath. The car will be on offer at the famous Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in early 2010.

Lamborghinis have always been a popular sight and are always a crowd pleaser. La Dolce Vita has several dozen Lamborghinis on board in every color of the rainbow plus many additional unique configurations you won’t want to miss. The Lamborghini owners are exceptional folk who love to share stories about the cars and don’t mind camera-happy fans who love to snap photos from all around. After all, these cars look spectacular from every angle! A great surprise for both spectators and the media, La Dolce Vita will have a new 2010 Lamborghini LP 670 SV on display for all to admire! This car does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds!!!!

While La Dolce Vita Automobili is an Italian car-centric event, there is also a European display showcasing other cars as art. Featured Marques of the Peninsula invites cars being showcased at other Monterey Car Week events to display on Friday such as Bugatti which is featured at Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Porsche, the featured marque at the weekend’s Historic Races.

An Automotive Design Pavilion will offer visitors a look into the future of cars. Featured students and graduates of the Academy of Art University School of Industrial Design in San Francisco, California will showcase a myriad of work. Digital renderings of cars will be on display via computer kiosks. Easels will display 3′ x 4′ drawings and large, beautiful painted clay model will showcase projects aimed at car design decades from now. These are the future designers of collector cars, cars that will be admired generations from today.

Alfa Romeo Spiders through the Ages offers a wide variety of beautiful Alfa Romeos. Current entries span early models such as a 1931 6C 1750 to the recent 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Alfa Romeo’s newest design masterpiece that marks Alfa Romeo’s re-entry into the North American automotive market after more than a decade.

There will be many exciting features at this year’s event. A very special display of Lancia cars will showcase models as early as the 1916 Lancia Theta driven by Jan Vorboril in the Peking to Paris Rally. Jan will be on hand to autograph a new book written about the rally entitled Peking to Paris 2007 which chronicles adventures driving across Mongolia, Europe and more.

The annual Maserati Days Celebration will be held during La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse. Visitors can expect to see dozens of unique and incredible Maserati cars including both Vintage Race Cars and luxury car designs.

Yesterday July 29th, 2009 was the 2009 Ferrari Club of America (Parking Lot Photos) International Concours at Osthoff Resort on Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin. After attending last years 2008 Ferrari Club of America Photos meet in Toronto, Ontario (at Eagles Nest Golf & Country Club) I knew I had to make the 10 hour (1000km) drive from Toronto to Elkhart Lake, WI.

Ferrari Club America 2009 - Elkhart Lake Concours

Tomorrow starts the 2009 Ferrari F430 Challenge Pictures at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Quebec Canada (Google Map Here). It starts on Friday July 24, 2009 with a full day of practice laps for the Ferrari F430 Challenge as well as the Ferrari Historic Challenge. Saturday July 25th is the final morning of practices before the afternoon Qualifications and first round of races. Sunday July 25th is the 2nd round of qualifications followed by the 2nd and final race of the weekend. Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant is a 2.65-mile road course with 15 turns.

This will be my 2nd consecutive year at this event and in order to do this event justice I will be arriving locked and stocked with 2 rockstar photographers Josh McRae and Stephan Bauer. That’s how CarZi.com rolls! Anything else would just be…. well…. like every other boring image outsourced car blog out there

La Dolce Vita Automobili at the Black Horse Golf Course will be held Friday August 14, 2009 (9:30am-5pm). This event takes place during the famous Monterey Car Week in California. Naturally we will be there! The event is already receiving strong support across the Itallian car community (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati) so you should expect to see 40+ Lamborghini’s in addition to other European cars tastefully displayed.

In addition to million dollar exotic cars and fine women on display, wine, food, music & vendor offerings will also accompany the event.

Friday May 15th I shot what will now be a recurring annual event that incorporates all things FASHIONABLE… LAMBORGHINI and HIGH END COUTURE!!! The show was held at Club 1234 located on De La Montagne street in the heart of downtown Montreal, Quebec.

First expectation of the show were that there was to be at least 5 Lamborghini present at the event, even mention of a LAMBORGHINI REVENTON… I had to laugh out loud when I heard this as it is a very outlandish statement to begin with indeed to think that car would be on display. Regardless of the lack of promised Lambos (Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Club 1234), the show started off with a boom with a performance by a local hip hop dance group which I failed to take any decent shots of. The main event started off with a sway of amazingly presented girls in all sorts of designer apparel that looks AMAZING on any girl let alone these PERFECTION on these Montreal models!

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS!! Team Polizei 144 Porsche GT3

Alex Roy and Team Polizei will be making its professional racing debut in the Grand-Am Rolex Series (Mazda Raceway) in Monterey California on May 17th. Henri Richard and Rene Villeneuve will pilot # 63 – Team Polizei 144 Porsche GT3. Both drivers are very familiar with the challenging 2.2-mile, 11-turn Laguna Seca circuit.

Alex Roy currently holds the unofficial driving record from New York to Los Angeles in a staggering 31 hours and four minutes. (Keep in mind that I plan on beating this record before I die)

Team Polizei will compete in the Grand-Am Rolex GT class at Laguna Seca with a TRG prepared Porsche GT3.

“I couldn’t be more proud than to see Team Polizei enter the Grand-Am Rolex Series,” Roy, Team Polizei’s president said. “With Richard and Villeneuve at the helm, and TRG behind us, even I can’t believe it.”

“For me, racing in the Rolex Grand-Am Series is a natural progression towards my ultimate objective of being able to participate to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring,” Richard said. “The Rolex Grand-Am series is truly the premiere road racing series in the US and provides a level of competitiveness that sets the bar and provides a perfect proving ground for endurance racing.”

“Laguna Seca is my home track and my favorite track! I work there daily with the Skip Barber Racing School, so obviously I know the track very well,” Villeneuve continued. “I love the elevation changes and blind corners. Everyone talks about the “Corkscrew” which is fantastic, but I have found that there are other more challenging corners that can be the difference between a good lap and a not so good lap! For me, it is just going to be a matter adapting what I know about the track to the Rolex GT car.”

Kevin Buckler (TRG team owner) is looking forward to introducing the team to Grand-Am racing this weekend!

“Polizei is a great brand and we are excited to bring them into professional sports car racing,” Buckler said. “Their program is exciting and fits well with our aggressive style of brand presentation within the series. It’s very cool what Alex has done in complex viral marketing backed by a very hip and edgy concept with terrific results. I love it. Henri and Rene are an awesome team and have a lot of laps at Laguna and we are looking forward to helping them be very successful in their first Grand-Am GT race.”

TRG was founded in 1993 and has been competing at the top level of motor racing ever since. The team has the most wins of any team in the Grand-Am Rolex Series with 26, including the 2005 and 2006 Rolex Series GT championship trophy to go along with wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Bimmerfest 2009 is set to be the first place to see the new 2010 BMW Z4 on the west coast of the United States! BMW will be coming out with 2 pre production 2010 Z4’s that will be on display throughout the day.

For the 2nd year in a row Lexus is planning to enter it’s Lexus LF-A prototype 2 seater supercar in the 24 hour Nurburgring Endurance Race (Officially called the 37th ADAC Zurich 24h-Race 2009) during May 21-24, 2009. Naturally this contender is race equipped with roll cage and special crash/fire friendly gas tank as well as a GT size race wing and other aerodynamic tweaks that you can see from these photos. For those of you new to Gazoo Racing, they are the experts responsible for running the Lexus teams in Japan’s SUPER GT series of races.

This version of the LF-A will run the Division 2 SP8 class, which means that this version of the LF-A is close to the production version which is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show.

The Lexus LF-A sports a 4.8L V10 engine delivering 500+hp and a paddle-shift sequential manual gearbox. Data recorded from the races are used by Engineers to further fine tune and tweak the LF-A’s performance.
