Exotic cars congregated on downtown’s Stephen Avenue on Saturday for the start of the fifth Bullrun Road Rally. “Calgary was attractive for some logistical reasons, and the city has a very good developing downtown area,” Duncan says. “Calgary’s not a small city in terms of its population, but it has a small-city feel with a youthful nightlife.” The rally stopped in Big Sky, Mont., Saturday night, and carries on to Aspen, Colo., Park City, Utah, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Tucson, Ariz. before culminating June 27 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, with help from local sheriffs, put a damper on the annual Bullrun Road Rally this weekend by issuing speeding tickets to racers including the event’s safety car. Police nabbed a Lamborghini at 194 kilometers per hour (121 mph) - 94 kph over the limit - near the town of Black Diamond, southwest of Calgary, staff sergeant Mark Brown said. “They were running in a fairly tight bunch,” Brown, of the High River, Alberta, RCMP detachment, said. “If you stopped one, the others kept moving.”

A pair of Spyker C8 Spyders along with more than 70 other exclusive supercars will make their way through Tucson Thursday and Friday as part of the week-long seven-city Bullrun Road Rally. The cars are scheduled to arrive Thursday between 6 and 7 p.m. at Loews Ventana Canyon Resorts, 7000 N. Resort Drive. That will be followed by a party at the resort beginning at 10 p.m.

Only 1 day left until one of the biggest cross border poker runs begin: Bullrun 2008

The invite-only event, with a $20,000 entry fee, will launch from Oil Rich Calgary Alberta (Canada) and end in Cactus populated Scottsdale, Arizona.

Calgary will be hosting the Bullrun launch party on June 20, with competitors hitting the road on the 21st, said Barton. “The Bullrun official launch party will be held at The Whiskey on Friday, June 20th “… you can expect to see the notorious Bullrun mayhem.”, said Barton. Bring your cowboy boots!

CarZi Live Coverage Today: The 2007 Bullrun

Wow, what a day!! Vinay Menon and I got up super early and hopped on a Westjet Flight to Montreal, Quecbec to photograph and cover the 2007 Bullrun at its starting location!

What would normally require 5 hours of travel by road (one way from Toronto to Montreal), took us 45 minutes by plane.

We left my house at 6am, with Tim Hortons in hand and a beautiful sunrise setting the stage for our cruise to the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

We hit the sky at 7am.

Within 15 minutes of being in the limo en route to the ‘2007 Bullrun Starting Point‘ we spotted our first exotic of the morning around 8:30am on Autoroute Ville-Marie.

Next thing you know we are at PLACE JACQUES-CARTIER, Montreal, Quebec in Old Montreal.

Start Your Engines – 2007 Bullrun May 11-18

Once again the stars and the 100 cars of Bullrun 2007 (by invitation only) take to the roads of North America in a week of the best driving and most glamorous parties. The official start of the rally will be in Montreal @ the RitzMontreal.com 9am on Saturday May 12, 2007.

What happens next is a mystery, the participants only find out each morning where they have to head to that day.

Paris Hilton has also confirmed entrance into Bullrun 2007 – Montreal to Key West. She will be piloting a brand new Spyker C8.

Watch the VIDEO as Paris get schooled on how to start the damn thing. Don’t you love how she stands up from the drivers seat and just steps over the center console to slink down into the passenger seat? One thing I do love is the menacing sound of that Spyker C8’s engine.

Cost:
$17,500 USD, yields costs for driver + co-driver, accomodations, rally entry and meals and parties for the week.

Date:
The Bullrun USA 2007 begins May 11th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada To KEY WEST, FLORIDA, USA.

Rules:
1. All types of electronic equipment are allowed.
2. Drivers must start at the official start of day and receive the official route card to direct them to the lunch checkpoint.
3. All drivers must stop at the lunch checkpoint to collect their next route card.
4. The time required to be spent at the lunch checkpoint varies from day to day.
5. At the official finish for the day the drivers must present the lunch checkpoint car for their time to be recognized.
6. Drivers are required to drive within the bounds of all legal jurisdictions.

Remember KIDS, its not a RACE, its a RALLY!!
