Another year, another slow economy for the USA and specifically sunny Las Vegas, yet the 2011 SEMA Show Photos seems to be packed full of modified and exotic cars. It truly is something to visit SEMA, and see all the sweat, blood and money that goes into some of the custom cars and trucks at this show. Air Force Challenger & Mustang Photos

The USA Air Force has got 2 new recruitments. They are the Air Force spec Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang. This is an innovative move by the Air Force as a part of the 2009 Supercar tour, a recruiting initiative will hit high schools across the country to highlight career opportunities in the US Air Force. These two are sure to have the students’ eyeballs all over them. Who wouldn’t want to drive one of these?? The best bit? Wait till you see the interiors!

The Mustang gets done in white matte-pearlescent paint and is named the ‘X-1′. So got the connection? It reminds us of the BELL X-1, the first ever aircraft to exceed the speed of sound. The Mustang? Well, with some 500 bhp on tap, it can provide the on-road excitement, if you can control it with a joystick that is. Yup, you read it right. The interiors seem to have been lifted straight out of a fighter jet. Apart from the joystick, you get night and thermal vision systems, single ejection seat and GPS. Finishing touch is provided by the LSD doors.

The Challenger is called ‘Vapor’. It was designed to mimic the Stealth Bomber. It uses the same RADAR absorbing paint as the original and even uses a Stealth mode exhaust that makes it run silently! How fair is that? The characteristic V-8 rumble that can start earthquakes has been muted!

The Stealth Challenger gets biometric latches on the Scissor doors, proximity sensors and roof-mounted camera (1/4th mile range). Carbon fibre trim and custom body kits adorne the Dodge. while the Mustang is a single seater, the Dodge can seat two and has aircraft style throttle lever and twin carbon fibre wheels. It sports the same features as that of the Mustang but nothing has been mentioned about the powertrain.

Hats off to Galpin who modified and tuned these fighter style marketing toys! Galpin were the tuners responsible for the SCYTHE which Anthony saw at the 2008 SEMA Show (596 Photo Galleries).

Beau Boeckman’s boys at Galpin collaborated with technical and mechanical airmen to ensure the cars have an authentic Air Force aesthetic. “For Galpin Auto Sports to be commissioned by the most technologically advanced organization on earth is truly an honor” Boeckmann said in a statement. “This is one of the most extraordinary and important projects that we have ever done.”

Widebody Dodge Challenger by WCC

The Dodge Challenger R/T that you see in this article is pure eye-candy…. just look at it! The recent and regular stock Dodge Challenger is such a handsome and mature looking muscle car it’s hard to think of further body modifications that would further accentuate its shape and still look good. This version seems to accomplish just that.

You would have seen this Challenger if you recently watched the latest episode of West Coast Customs ‘Street Customs’ TV show that aired on TLC on March 26th, 2009. This one-off creation belongs to Joshua ‘Chop’ Tobin aka the “King of Cars”, who is the owner of Las Vegas based car dealership, Towbin Dodge. The entire pimp job was done by the guys at West Coast Customs (WCC) and we must say that they have come up with something really good.

When money is not an issue, the number of things that can be done are, well infinite. The real show stoppers on this car are those oversized wide rear fenders, white paint with black striping, a new spoiler at the rear and blacked out rear lights. The star of the show however are the magnificent Asanti deep dish rims. The car is fitted with 24 inches up front and 26 inches at the rear. They seem truly special and the white-black matte finish combination along with their design and the depth of the rear rims are quite stunning. The only sad part are the disc brakes which look like milk bottle tops inside these huge rims and fail to fill out the space inside.

The interior receives special treatment in the form of matching while & black leather trim. The 5 seater layout of this coupe has been retained and there is also a super cool high end Polk Audio system with two amps and 4 visible subs and when coupled with no roof you can keep the entire motorway entertained! The top is all black and doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the car’s styling. However, this is one car to be seen in with the top down.

With all those prying eyes, the owner would have felt that it would be better to auction off this car. The auction on ebay lasted three days. It was later withdrawn after the highest bid was just $50,200 which did not meet the reserve price (which is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for the item).

Well, we do not know what the owner might have expected but, but as a consequence he retains the Challenger. This might even be his trick to pull in prying eyes to take notice of his creation. Cheers!

1000hp Twin Supercharged Dodge Challenger

RDP Motorsport in Ohio have added their own flavor of modifications to the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and came up with a Twin Supercharged 440 Stroker which they introduced at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Florida. They have added a plethora of modifications, however the majority of it’s 1000hp is thanks to a one of a kind Twin Bullet / RDP Harrop Supercharger system and a nitrous boosting system from Nitrous Express.

Other modifications include: a new fitted rear end with custom 1/2 shaft and a quaife centre, a 3,800rpm high stall converter to help launch the car with more torque, new step headers from Kooks and a custom exhaust system manufactured on site by RDP Performance.

CDC Modified Dodge Challenger

CDC or Classic Design Concepts is a tuner in Novi, Michigan, USA. They took a Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and added a supercharger which pushes 560 HP! They also installed an adjustable suspension system from PW, exhaust from Pypes Performance and a big brake upgrade by Baer.

CDC has also given the SRT-8 a new body kit which has composite front fenders, rear flares, a stainless front grille, a lightweight aluminum hood with a cold air intake shaker and 20 inch alloys.

Here are some SEMA 2009 preview photos of the concept Dodge Challenger SRT-10 which is powered from the aluminum Dodge Viper 8.4L V10 packing 600hp and 560 ft-lbs of torque!

The Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept is painted Tornado Red and sports a carbon-fiber deck lid and hood. The “shaker hood” is a nostalgic representation of the 1970 HEMI Cuda, which gives her more room to breathe deeply.

Upgraded Brakes, BILSTEIN shocks at all four corners and an interior with sport seats and carbon-fiber accents. Staying true to the Viper-powered vehicle lineage it even has a bright red engine start push-button in the dash!

Modified Challenger SRT8: 2009 Hennessey SRT600

From the tuners that brought you the Hennessey Venom – Neiman Marcus Edition Hennessey has been very busy modifying since acquiring an SRT8 Challenger on eBay! They have been turbocharging and tweaking it to create the first SRT600. Expect power output to be above 600 HP with 600 lb-ft of torque (holy shit) featuring the massive 6.1L Hemi under the hood!

Them good old boys from Texas are still tweaking the Challenger, but expect a 0-to-60 mph time in the high three second range, and a quarter-mile time below 12 seconds.

Hennessey plans to make a limited numbers of their Challenger SRT600, so now there’s one more level of eliteness to race towards for those who want one!

Dodge Challenger SRT8 – Speedfactory Modified

Speedfactory recently received their first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, they went straight to work adding a 5.5-lb. supercharger and according to Speedfactorys dyno results, the 6.1-liter supercharged Hemi V8 delivers 496Hp to the rear wheels, meaning that there should be around 600Hp at the crankshaft!!

Dodge decided to release their high performance 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT version to a few lucky pre-ordering customers (such as JAY LENO’s New SRT8 Dodge Challenger)!

DUB Magazine got some photos and video coverage of Vehicle Number 11 at the recent DUB Show in Dallas in JR’s Custom Auto display booth.

This modified Challenger, was sitting on 5-spoke 22″ back and chrome Forgiato wheels. The SRT Challenger has a massive 6.1 Liter Hemi V8, pumping 425 bhp and 420lb of torque at 4800 rpm.

The interior was fitted with an upgraded audio system and custom black upholstery details.

Jay Leno and his NEW 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

Who else but JAY LENO, would get their hands on Dodge’s sexy new retro-themed muscle car the 2008 Dodge Challengers. JAY took delivery of his Black Challenger SRT8 on Monday, June 2, 2008, in Los Angeles. As you can see in the foreground, Leno also took along his orange/black 1970′s Dodge Challenger.

The 2008 Dodge Challengers have started arriving in dealerships across the U.S. While driving on the 401 in Toronto last night, I saw a whack of orange ones on a car transport headed WEST just past Milton, ON. It was unfortunately too dark to snap a photo which would have been sweet for this post!
