Because most of you hardcore Chevy Camaro die hards can’t wait until the official production 2011 Chevy Camaro convertible, Drop Top Customs is offering an $18,000 conversion option which will debut at the 2009 SEMA SHOW in Las Vegas!

Checkout the spy photo below that was recently taken outside GM’s Holden plant in Australia of 8 pre-production drop tops! I wonder if the drop top’s will make this car look any better, as I am not a huge fan of them anymore.

I was invited by Carl Descoteaux who is one of the owners of HTT Technologies to attend the Canadian Press release for the HTT PLETHORE LC 750. It is a 750 BHP monster that was born and bread in St-Eustache, Quebec in Canada. What a perfect day it was for the unveiling. We started shooting around 4 pm just as the sun started to set creating some excellent lighting conditions.

What you might or might not know is that this has been 15 year dream come true for Luc Chartrand (Creator, Owner, Designer) of the HTT PLETHORE LC 750. Blood, sweat and many tears have been poured into this extravagant Canadian Supercar.

Photographs do not fully capture how aggressive this car looks let alone the feeling that comes over you when you first see this monster in the flesh! Although the car is not 100% complete is still an engineering masterpiece to behold. Within the next 3 years HTT hopes to be able to release a 1300 BHP version of the PLETHORE which will definitely make the folks over at Bugatti and SSC take note. Carl explained to me that 10 European orders for the car have been confirmed. We await to see this car out and about in Monaco one day during their crazy week leading up to the GP. I do hope you all enjoy the pics and feel the vibe of amazingness that the PLETHORE exudes.

This is the first Canadian super car ever featuring a center seat for the driver (like the McLaren F1). It houses a supercharged 6.2L V8 which delivers 750 hp (560 kW) (torque 655 lb·ft (888 N·m)). An optional high performance engine with 1100-1300 hp (820 kW) has also been hinted as an option. The chassis and body is made entirely out of carbon fiber with no engine sub frame resulting in an exceptionally rigid chassis. The car should weigh approximately 2,400 lb (1,089 kg) when fitted to the 1,300 hp (970 kW) engine and will then have the power to weight ratio of a Formula 1 race car!

Carzi & Madwhips both wish GOOD LUCK to HTT Technologies and hope that their stint in Frankfurt this coming week brings out a new fan base and world recognition for them!

I don’t know very many people who own a Ferrari F40, let alone have their race winning Ferrari F40 hanging upside down on the ceiling (with working headlights) in the bar of their home. This past January 2009 I made my first trip to Japan to photograph the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon Review & 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon Pictures. While in Japan I was presented with the opportunity to house visit Ricky Chiba of Team Taisan!

I stayed in Tokyo for 10 days with one of my best friends Adrian Grey, who I grew up with for the first 15 years of my life YET haven’t seen in the last 15 years due to geography. Adrian has been in Japan for 8 years is and successfully co-founded the creative agency SET which specializes in unique marketing solutions SET Japan. Adrian and Sato San were responsible for hooking me up with this home visit and interview with Tokyo Businessman Yasutsume Chiba also know as Ricky Chiba of Team Taisan.

For those of you unfamiliar with QR Codes (Quick Response Codes), they are small 1 inch x inch dot matrix (two-dimensional bar code) being used extensively in AsiaEurope as a way to connect consumers with mobile websites. They were initially used for tracking parts in vehicle manufacturing. These codes are read by your mobile phone’s camera (when you take a picture of it) which direct you to a specific mobile website for information on a product, service.

Ricky’s custom built house includes a subterranean garage (Batcave) which house many of his Porsche racing cars which include a 956, 962C, GT2, RSR, GT3R, an Indy car, a pristine Bentley Azure, Vipers, Skylines, Jaguars and more. Ricky Chiba’s passion for cars and motor sports started at a young age, and he has some of his first pictures drawn by him on display in his house. His bar area also includes his Porsche 911 996 GT3R winning cup car, the engine from the Ferrari F40 on the ceiling is a center piece under a glass table and race tires converted into coffee tables!

Taisan Kogyi KK is a group of family owned Engineering companies founded by Ricky Chiba’s father. The company is internationally known for its range of specialized pumps used in industry & manufacturing, AND naturally for it’s own motor racing team – Team Taisan!

Team Taisan was formed in 1984 and unlike most first ranked motor racing teams, Team Taisan did not have unlimited financial or major motor manufacturer backing. This is what blows me away and provides further testament to Ricky’s personal motto “keep the dream alive”. To Ricky, racing is a symbol of life’s endless challenges – of the need to always strive to do better, to shoulder disappointments, to sustain an ambition to WIN! AND WIN HE HAS.

Shortly after forming, Team Taisan was quick to enter the lime light by winning the Japanese Sports Car Championship for 3 consecutive years 1985-1987, as well as the Japan Touring Car Championship in 1989. They went on to win the Japanese Grand Touring Championship (JGTC) in 1995, 1996 & 1998. They have also placed 8th in the INDY 500!

With more than 58 Wins in 25 years of racing (again without major motor backing), it was Ricky Chiba’s relentless pursuit of his childhood dream coupled with his passion of motor sports which have led to his amazing success to date!

Yesterday July 29th, 2009 was the 2009 Ferrari Club of America (Parking Lot Photos) International Concours at Osthoff Resort on Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin. After attending last years 2008 Ferrari Club of America Photos meet in Toronto, Ontario (at Eagles Nest Golf & Country Club) I knew I had to make the 10 hour (1000km) drive from Toronto to Elkhart Lake, WI.

With the Ferrari 430 Scuderia just over a year old now, we’ve seen quite a few variations of the car. Unlike Lamborghini, Ferrari rarely offers weird and eccentric color combos on their cars. Last week while doing my usual rounds on car forums I frequent, I crossed paths with this Custom Black and Gold Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Not only do we have to thank Dilan Bandaranayake of Dilancer Films who came across the car at Ferrari of Beverly Hills, but Vinay also spotted this car on the road while in Southern California back on May 2nd!

Its subtle yet very aggressive looking at the same time. It basically goes without saying when speaking of the Scuderia’s looks because they are nothing BUT aggressive.

It was bound to happen. With the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV begining to be delivered to customers across the globe more and more sightings of Lamborghini’s latest flagship model are surfacing! This is most likely the first time an example of the LP 670-4 SV in Grigio Telesto is found out and about in the wild.

I cant help but say that no matter what color this car is painted in it is magnificent to stare and drool over. No word on whom the owner is just yet but thanks to AUTOJUNK.NL we have proof of the beast in existence.

It is parked in what seems to be quite a posh area of London for the simple fact it is surrounded by MANY other rare exotics such as a set of twin matt black LP 640s, a Black SLR Roadster, a white Ferrari 599 GTB and last but not least a fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms. It is too bad (in my humble opinion) that the LP 670-4 SV will not be released in Verde Ithaca. Either way, one day if the money gods rain on me i will make it happen!!!

Here are the first live pictures, specs and a detailed review of the Corvette C6 Z06 based Spada Codatronca Prototype that delivers 505 hp via it’s Corvette LS7. I am not going to sugar coat my initial thoughts; I think this pseudo-exotic is absolutely hideous! I really hope that when I get a chance to see this monster in person (designed by legendary Italian designer Ercole Spada, known for his work with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Zagato, and Aston Martin) that I will change my point of view.

The price tag is more expensive than a Corvette ZR1 or Corvette C6RS and despite it sporting a hidden high tech roll cage that uses a special coating to bond to the frame (like on a Ferrari) this beast weighs just under 3000 lbs (1350 kgs).

The interior is somewhat bearable, handcrafted in Turin using alcantara, leather, and aluminum as you can see in the photo above. The seats are apparently stylish and supportive despite their fixed back (I wonder how tall a human would fit in here?). Furthermore the aluminum accented dials and LCD gauges are matched in the styling and design of a wrist watch that comes with the car. The F1 inspired dash has 80 input logging channels with 40 GB to log the data which includes inputs for steering angle, G meter, speedo, gear selection.

Moton Suspension Technology helped develop and engineer the Spada Codatronca’s unique suspension which features electronically controlled sway bars with a cockpit dial for: rain, soft, medium, or hard ride modes. Further adjustable sway bars, coil overs, and fully independent suspension yield what some call a telepathic road feel.

The rear end is a real piece of work (straight out of high school shop class imho) which integrates handmade aluminum exhaust tips and bi-xenon headlamps and LED F1 inspired brake lights. It’s airplane like rear end helps it surpass the Z06 drag coefficient and ultimately its top speed. For the normally aspirated version the top speed is said to be 211 mph (340 km/h) and 220mph (355 km/h) when supercharged.

The Codatronca has 8 piston front and 4 piston Brembo calipers coupled with lightweight 15 inch front and 14 inch rear rotors. Lightweight 19 inch racing OZ allow wheels covered in Pirelli Pzero Corsa tires (285/35/19 front, 345/35/19 rear) keep this ugly duckling glued to the road.

Spada also plans to sell a TS version (Turismo Sportivo) with a naturally aspirated modified LS7 which will output 630hp and 670 lb-ft of torque.

Another engine package called the TSV (Turismo Super Veloce) will sport a twin screw C38 Rotrex supercharger with intercooler rumored to produce 750hp and 950 lb-ft of torque!

Supercar tuner Edo Competition is the first shop to deliver a complete aftermarket performance and styling upgrade packages for the Ferrari California Spider.

Edo Competition have completely re-tuned the ECU of the 4.3L V8 and has also installed a brand new engineered high performance exhaust system which features adjustable butterfly valves and custom designed high flow catalytic converters. These modifications add 40hp and 12 ft-lb of torque for a total deliverance of 500hp and 369ft-lb of torque!

The Edo Competition Ferrari California now performs the 0-62 mph (100km/h) in 3.9 seconds and deliver a top speed of 196mph (315km/h). (This is a +5km/h improvement compared to the factory model).
