Here are the first pictures of the new Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor show. This beautiful Lamborghini concept weighs 1000kgs (2204lbs) and shows off their latest technologies through the extensive use of carbon fiber plastics! It’s monocoque, front frame, suspension components and wheels are all fabricated out of carbon fiber Awesome! Fitted with a 570hp V10 (3.86lbs/hp) it is rumoured to be good for 0-100km/h (62mph) in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 300km/h (186mph).

Justin Bieber was spotted rolling around Los Angeles in his recent birthday gift from P Diddy; a white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder! Justin was out with his friend Sean Kingston getting frozen Yogurt.

P Diddy had previously promised Justin the keys to his Lamborghini when he turned 16 and although Bieber told People Magazine in March that he thought Diddy was full of shit, looks like he spoke to soon! Usher also gifted him with a brand new Ranger Rover when he turned 16 on March 1st as well.

There is much more involved in owning an expensive luxury sports car than just the price. The cost of insurance also plays a big part in how much you pay to own the car. Insurance providers consider such aspects as the cost of repairs, safety rating, risk of theft, safety features, and performance features, in how they set their premiums. So finding the best insurance coverage can be a daunting task for these cars. Below are the top 3 most expensive cars to insure:

1. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport: At a base price of $2,000,000 and only 150 produced, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is one of the most expensive and fastest cars in the world. It is an all-wheel-drive convertible that has an 8 Liter turbocharged W-16 Engine that has a power output of 1,001 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 922 ft-lbs at 2,200 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 62mph (100km/h) in 2.5 seconds. The Grand Sport can reach a maximum speed of 406 km/h with the hardtop, limited to 369 km/h with no roof, and 130 km/h with the soft roof. The more expensive features that one acquires then the more the insurance will cost. The average cost of insurance, depending on the features, is about $2943.78 per month.

2. Mercedes McLaren SLR Roadster: At a base price of $534,485 USD the Mclaren SLR Roadster is the fastest automatic car in the world with a top speed of 332 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in 3.8 seconds. Containing a 5.5 Liter AMG Supercharged V8 engine, it has a power output of 617 hp and 580 ft-lb of torque. The average monthly insurance premium is about $2,715.86.

3. Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV: At a price $450,000 and limited to 350 this will be the Murcielago’s final stage apperance before it’s phased out for a new model. The LP670-4 SV has a 6.0-litre V12 engine that has a power output of a 661 hp and 490 ft-lbs of torque which produces a 0-62mph (100km/h) time of 3.2 seconds. Lamborghini claims the SV can reach 342km/h with it’s optional smaller spoiler or 337km/h with the standard Aeropack wing. Depending on the features that are included, the price for insuring a new Lamborghini Murcielago can be around $2,863.03 per month.

If you are a sports car enthusiast, you understand the amount of time and money that is invested in these high priced powerful fast cars. The high insurance premiums not only reflects the value of the car, but also the high risk such as theft, damage that may require expensive parts replacement, and how expensive it would be if the car were in a accident. Increasing the car’s performance with a powerful engine and transmission also increases insurance premiums. As well, the acceleration rates and top speeds increase the likelihood of an owner speeding that could result in a car accident or a speeding ticket. The price of the insurance policy takes all of these risks into consideration which makes the insurance expensive. In March 2010, Lamborghini announced the release of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera – a ultra light and powerful version of the latest Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

Utilizing carbon fiber where they could (replacing glass windows with PCB, carbon fiber rear engine cover, rear diffuser, under body paneling, exterior mirror housings, door sills and the rear spoiler) they were able to reduce the weight by 88lbs to 2954lbs which makes it the lightest road legal Lamborghini. In addition to some AWD system tweaks and a re-tuned 5.2L V10 engine, it now delivers 570hp and 398 ft-lbs of torque (vs standard LP560-4 which has 552hp). The 2010 and can do 0-100km/h (62mph) in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 202mph.

Even more dynamic, lighter, more powerful and stunning – the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera is the new top model in the Gallardo line-up. Its evocative “superlight” badge refers to a driving machine of true sporting character and describes a high-performance and lean automotive athlete. The Superleggera makes its entrance to continue the success of its predecessor, launched in 2007, of which Lamborghini produced and sold no less than 618 in just one year.

Compared with the already lean Gallardo LP 560-4, the weight of the Gallardo Superleggera has been trimmed by 70 kilograms (154 lb). The super sportscar from Sant’Agata Bolognese boasts a dry weight of no more than 1340 kilograms (2954 lb) – the lightest road-going model in Lamborghini’s range, and a new arrival in one of the most exclusive market niche segments.

One key factor is the exterior and interior components made from carbon-fiber. Carbon-fiber is ideal for the manufacture of sportscars as its use allows for weight reduction and improved mechanical features. The car’s performance is thus enhanced thanks to a better weight-to-power ratio and reduced total mass, which means that CO2 emissions are also lower. Lamborghini has been at the forefront in this material’s application for many years, and now the brand is extending its leadership even further.

The V10 power unit with 5.2 liters (317,6 cu in) of displacement generates 419 kW (570 CV*) in the Gallardo Superleggera. This puts the weight-to-power ratio of the new top model at only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per CV and guarantees breathtaking performance. The Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera handles the dash from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and flies past the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 10.2 seconds later, ultimately reaching 325 km/h (202 mph). The engine with “Iniezione Diretta Stratificata” gasoline direct injection also boasts an impressive degree of efficiency. Its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 20,5 percent compared to the previous model.

The Gallardo Superleggera is an uncompromising driving machine. Its running gear, with its mighty braking system, has a dedicated and exceptionally precise set-up, while its 19-inch wheels, Pirelli P Zero Corsa, clad in Pirelli sports rubber, are extremely light. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera brings a whole new meaning to the term “super sportscar”.
